A few weeks ago I started getting messages I didn't expect.
Not from fighters. Not from the gym crowd this brand was built for. From women — several of them older, several of them strangers to combat sports entirely — telling me the same story: they'd stopped using shampoo. Stopped using conditioner. Just the bar. And their hair had never felt better.
My first instinct was disbelief. My second was to actually figure out why.
Turns out, it's not a fluke. It's chemistry — and once you see it, you can't unsee it every time you walk down the shampoo aisle.
Your Scalp Already Knows How to Condition Hair
Here's the part nobody tells you at the drugstore: your body already makes conditioner. It's called sebum — an oil your scalp produces made of fatty acids, cholesterol, and lipids. Healthy sebum is the reason some people's hair just looks good without trying. It coats the strand, seals the cuticle, reflects light. That shine you're chasing with serums? Your scalp used to hand it to you for free.
So what happened?
The Shampoo Aisle Is a Trap You Reset Every Day
Most shampoo is built around sulfates — surfactants that are extremely good at one job: stripping oil. That's not a side effect, it's the design. The problem is they don't know the difference between road grime and the sebum your hair actually needs.
So you strip it in the shower. Your scalp panics and overproduces oil to compensate, or it can't keep up and you're left dry and brittle. Here's the twist that explains why it was mostly older women writing to me: sebum production isn't constant across a lifetime. As estrogen declines — through your 40s, 50s, and beyond — your scalp naturally makes less of it. Less oil means drier hair, more static, more breakage, less shine, and it's not damage in the way we normally think about damage. It's biology quietly changing the rules without telling you.
Which means the hair care routine that worked at 25 can actively work against you at 50 — you're stripping a system that's already running low, then trying to patch the shortfall with synthetic fillers instead of solving the actual deficit.
What Fills the Gap
Here's where it gets interesting. The fatty acids missing from an aging or over-washed scalp — oleic acid, stearic acid, linoleic acid — are the exact same fatty acids that make up shea butter. Not a loose parallel. A near-identical match. Shea butter can functionally step into the role sebum used to play: softening the strand, sealing the cuticle, calming an irritated scalp.
Stack fulvic acid on top of that and you add a second mechanism: fulvic acid binds trace minerals — zinc, iron, copper, magnesium — and helps carry them where they're actually used, including the cellular machinery that builds keratin, the protein your hair is made of.
Put those two ingredients on a bar with nothing to strip anything in the first place, and you get something almost embarrassingly simple: a soap that doesn't fight your scalp, it feeds it.
The Honest Version
I'm not going to tell you this regrows hair — the clinical research isn't there, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you something they can't back up. What I can tell you, backed by real chemistry, is this: it stops the stripping, and it puts back fat and minerals your scalp may not be making anymore on its own.
